{Averie Klare} A baby shower

So, here I go again! Getting behind on my blog! Well, I have 3 excuses named, Levi, Jenna and Lyza! :) HA! Being a mommy is my number one priority so these things will happen but you know what that is ok with me! I had rather be with them instead of in front of this computer any day, although I must say when I do get the time I LOVE blogging about my pictures, editing my pictures or emailing friends, especially if it involves talking about taking pictures. I know, I am photoaholic. Too bad there is no recovery center, I am sure

Luke (my husband) would have me there immediately! :) Bless him, he is finally getting the point though, we went to Florida for vacation and of course, we had to do a beach photo shoot, well, guess who didn't complain one time. Yep, that would be my husband! He despises pictures but he knows I love them so he has finally threw in the towel and just does it! I am so PROUD! LOL Now on to the pics...yes, I am rambleaholic as well, I am aware...this is my neice, Averie Klare's baby shower. Of course she is here now, but I was happy how everything turned out. It was just a small shower with just our church family, and it is her second baby, but I still wanted it to be special. Heather (the mommy) LOVES green and blue, so I went with it! I have to say it is pretty darn cute if I do say so myself! She is a little cutie pie! I have already shot her newborn pics so those will be on here next! I hope to add more pics, for some reason it has froze up and won't let me add anymore. But, I think you get the point! Have a great day!

"ART"tastic 7 Party for my Boo

So, my middle child, Jenna Beth, turned 7 (gasp :O)on April 29th. We had her party this weekend. She LOVES crafts and painting so we decided to do a 'ART' themed party. It was so much fun. The girls seemed to enjoy themselves. They got to paint their own canvas and make a sock monkey bracelet (wearable art, ;)) I had found some letters at Hobby Lobby to spell Jenna's name and just used those as my base colors for the party. Heather Wilken, my sis-in-law and owner of Lollie's Creative Confections, made the cake and it matched perfectly...

and if you know me at all you will know that it

MUST match or it just irritates me beyond belief. I know I am weird...I am aware of the situation. But I am pretty sure it was passed down to me from my mom, so let's blame her. ;)
I had fun with the party favors. I did the obvious crayons, watercolor paints, paint brushes, paint sponges, elmer's glue and erasers...but then I used all the candy that I wanted to give them as favors as the centerpieces of their art table. So they all got to stuff lollipops, skittles, gumballs and twizzlers in their bag as they were finished with their masterpieces! Speaking of their masterpieces they got to take those home with them too, they were still a little wet, but I hope they all got home with them unharmed. They all seemed so proud of them! And I gave them the paint palette as well so they can paint some more when they get home. AND I puff-painted names on all the aprons before the party so obviously, that was a favor as well, and I hope it is one that will get used again! I have to say it was a lot of fun. Please don't be too critical of the photos, remember, I wasn't just the photographer at this party, I was the MOMMA TOO! But I have to say, I have such AWESOME friends and family that help me so much! I wouldn't have got it done without you and you KNOW who you are! LOVE YOU ALL!Happy Birthday, my sweet Boo!!! <3
On down a few pics are some chocolate covered pretzels and white chocolate art palettes with skittle blobs of "paint", those were made for me by Sudie Huddleston. She always has some cute ideas with sweet treats. Thanks, Sudie! And if you want her or Heather's info just shoot me an email and I will be happy to give it to you.

Hippity Hop, Mini Sessions are on their way!

Alright, so I can't hardly take it anymore...gotta share some of my props for this Saturday! These are just a few, there are more, I had to have some surprises for you or it wouldn't be near as much fun!
So I had pondered this in my head for months...just trying to figure how it would come together in real life. But I think it is going to work out beautifully! I wanted to offer something unique, something that screams "Capture Photography" by Julie. I wanted to be set apart from any other photo session that I have ever came across, because how would that make me special if I copied someone else? Don't you love my photos for their originality, not that I duplicate fellow photographers work? EVERY single one of the decorations that you will see on Saturday came from one place...my brain. No kidding. I get it from my mom. I overthink things WAYYYY too much. Things must be the way I have them in pictured in my mind or I am not satisfied. It is just in my genes. It takes me at least an hour some nights to fall alseep because I have so many things and ideas swirling in my head that I can't get it to slow down to allow me to rest.
This isn't in just photography, this is in everyday life. My kids' birthday parties, their clothes, my home decor, my bible class lessons, my bible classroom decor, my clothes, my husband's clothes, which is the most fuel efficient way to get from point A to point B when I am in Cookeville, and the list goes on and on. Needless to say, it drives my husband crazy! I tell people all the time that if I had to live with me I would go crazy too!
Alright, so now that you know how crazy I am, can't wait to take your pics! LOL
I enjoy giving you a little insight of me and my life, it is good to know your photographer, and feel comfortable around them. Even if I am not YOUR photographer, check out your own photographers blog and learn about them. That is what makes them special. We all have our own spin on things, that is why there are so many of us. Some styles are just not my cup of tea, BUT they may be yours. Either way as long as the moment is captured to your liking that is what is important. Have a fantastic Easter! To all that I am honored to photograph on Saturday, I CAN'T WAIT!!! :D

Whoa, BABY! What a party!

Wow, it's April already!?! Really? Ok, so my momma was right, time goes by so much faster as a adult. ;)
So, this is Emery Jane and her very first birthday party! Yes, I know I am so lucky! I got to photograph her super sweet Minnie Mouse party. Her mom, Kimberly, really made it a time to remember! Not that Emery will remember, but momma will have the pictures to treasure to show all her hard work she put into every detail of this big day! LOL Right, Kimberly?
I have Hippity Hop Mini sessions coming up next weekend, fingers crossed and praying that the day will be beautiful and no rain. I have alot of props and I am thinking of giving you a sneak peek for those of you that are signed up.
Well, that is about all I have to say for today, just thought I needed to update this since my main techno dude made it look all fabulous for me. :D Have a great weekend!

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Now, I know what you are thinking, this is not the best picture, BUT if you are Kyden's mommy, you would think it was priceless! Believe it or not, I am convinced that the extreme hatred of being photographed is just in the male DNA. Including male babies. This little guy has not been fond of me with my camera in his face since his very first photo session at 3 months old. BUT, as soon as I take my face from out behind the camera, that is a different story. His whole demeanor changes. He gives me the sweetest smiles and the priceless grins. Thanks goodness for remote shutter releases! :) It has been a joy watching Kyden grow up this past year. The relationship with his family has gone from clients to friends. THIS is why I love my job. Getting the opportunity to meet wonderful people and share my love of the camera with them to "capture" whatever their little ones, or big ones, may throw at me. And for that I am grateful. Grateful that you are willing to share your family with me that I may "capture" that moment in time, where in 18 years when they are graduating high school and you are sobbing over their scrapbook, you can say, "It was captured by Julie."

A Mish Mosh

I started this blog when I started my business, only to be overwhelmed by so many things that it took the backseat to so many other things...plus, I didn't like the way it looked. So with a little help from my techno genius cousin, Blake, I am going to give it another shot.
To catch you up, not that there are probably many to catch up since no one more than likely ever even viewed my blog anyway, I have had some fun times with newborn babies lately. LOVE them!! I mean I know they are sweet, cuddly precious bundles of joy anyways, BUT to get to photograph them and position them in these sweet little poses while they are sound asleep, is just fantastic for me!
